Biden takes shots at Trump during press conference with South Korean president

President Joe Biden took two thinly veiled shots at his predecessor for his negotiating style with North Korean despot Kim Jong Un and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Biden, fielding questions during his bilateral press conference with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Friday, said he would consider attending a summit with Kim as long as North Korea commits to taking denuclearization steps ahead of the meeting.

“But what I would not do, is do what had been done in the recent past,” he declared. “I would not give him all he’s looking for, international recognition as legitimate and, say, give them what allowed him to move in a direction of appearing to be more — how can I say it? More serious about it.”

Later, the president declined to characterize his relationship with Netanyahu after negotiating the Israel-Hamas ceasefire in recent days.

“I don’t talk about what I tell people in private. I don’t talk about what we negotiated privately,” Biden responded. “I pray the ceasefire will hold.”
