Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) learned after her endorsement of Hillary Clinton that hell hath no fury like Bernie Bros scorned.
The Massachusetts senator betrayed her progressive fans by announcing her support of the pro-Wall Street, pro-war Democratic nominee after spending months on the sidelines, refusing to help Bernie Sanders in the primary.
“I’m ready to jump in this fight and make sure that Hillary Clinton is the next president of the United States and be sure that Donald Trump gets nowhere near the White House,” Warren said to The Boston Globe.
Progressives perceived the endorsement as a betrayal of their trust and interests.
Vox reported that comments on the Massachusetts Senator’s Facebook page were overwhelmingly negative, where former supporters were stating that she “betrayed them” and going as far as saying “e [sic] tu senator?”
Twitter followers of Warren were equally angry at Warren, sharing an image of her with the hashtag #Sellout.
