Former presidential candidate Herman Cain told Red Alert Politics  Friday at CPAC Chicago  in an exclusive interview that Republicans need to actively engage college students and other young Americans and that he’s doing his part.

“Young people want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem,” Cain said.

Younger Americans are painfully aware of the aware that the nation is broke and that “they don’t buy into the untruths about the claimed recovery.”

“There is no recovery in the private sector … in spite of what this administration said,” Cain said.

Cain says he’s been personally reaching out to college students and has received a lot positive feedback from young people. These experiences have made the former presidential candidate confident that young Americans are receptive to the conservative message.

“Kids love my message,” Cain said.

Cain plans a college and university tour this fall to engage younger Americans.
