We’re thinking Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx said it best.
“Republicans love to dance – in the Hamptons,” Foxx told Page Six.
Foxx’s fundraiser in the Hamptons Saturday night saw both New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) hop on stage and dance it out in front of an audience that included the likes of Barbra Streisand, Sir Paul McCartney, Jack Nicholson, Anjelica Huston and Robert DeNiro.
According to Page Six, Christie’s dance was prompted by an on-stage call out from Foxx. Foxx said he was trying to outdo last year’s event, which saw Colin Powell dancing on stage.
After performances by Gladys Knight, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting and Pharrell Williams at the fundraiser, Oscar winner Foxx exclaimed, “I know you’ve got a dance in you, Chris Christie.”
Christie, who attended the bash as a guest of Bon Jovi, ran to the stage for a wild dance. Sen. John McCain then joined Foxx and performed “the robot.”
Christie’s moves found a fan in Nicholson.
“That was one hell of a night. Christie really held his own,” Nicholson told Page Six. “I told him, as he walked back to his seat, ‘Governor, you can’t let New Jersey down.’”
