Did you know Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) is Satan incarnate? Neither did he, until he read a hilarious mean tweet about himself.
In response to comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s segment where celebrities read mean tweets about themselves, the staff at NowThis News decided to replicate the hilarity — on Capitol Hill. In a series of videos released Tuesday, well-known politicians — including Ryan, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wisc.) — read and react to weird, funny and downright nasty tweets about them.
“Paul Ryan has such pretty blue eyes, sometimes it’s easy to forget he’s Satan incarnate,” Ryan reads before looking up at the camera with a quizzical expression.
“@repkinzinger Damn, you suck,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) reads about himself, before muttering “thank you” and storming off.
The other members of Congress featured also played along admirably, making for some pretty funny videos.
