The American dream lives on. Here’s proof.
Zach Danger Brown’s potato salad Kickstarter continues to rally Americans in an unprecedented fashion. Brown’s simple $10 campaign to make a potato salad has raked in over $59,000 so far, with about 4,700 people pledging to contribute.
Brown, the face behind the Kickstarter, made media appearances this week. He appeared on CNBC’s “Closing Bell” yesterday to discuss his absurd Kickstarter fame.
In the interview, Brown said he hasn’t decided on an exact recipe for his potato salad yet. He also hasn’t reported when this infamous potato salad will be made.
The show’s host asked Brown what he’s going to do with all the money raised, considering he might have more than a few dollars left over.
“Our goal with this money is to spend all of it on the greater good, working to make the world a better place,” said Brown.
Brown’s vague answer didn’t explain where or how the money would used for the greater good. He noted Kickstarter restricts donating money raised directly to charities.
Brown reiterated that he’d be looking to use the excess cash for “something good” since potato salad “is not super expensive.”
Well at least it’s not super expensive unless your shopping at Whole Foods, according to Jimmy Fallon.
“The Tonight Show” host mentioned the potato salad Kickstarter last night in his opening monologue. The Kickstarter had raised $35,000 at the time of the show’s broadcast.
“35,000 bucks for a potato salad, or as Whole Foods put it, “that sounds about right,”” joked Fallon.
