Today, the Romney campaign will release an ad entitled “No Evidence” that calls Obama dishonest for his reference to untrue facts and his misleading ad campaign, reports The Weekly Standard.
The ad begins with a voiceover asking, “When a president doesn’t tell the truth, how can we trust him to lead?”
Then the voiceover backs up its claim by saying, “The Obama outsourcing attacks: ‘Misleading, unfair, and untrue’” and “There was ‘no evidence’ that Mitt Romney shipped jobs overseas.” These statements are qualified by The Washington Post and Factcheck.org, respectively, according to the ad.
The ad explains that “candidate Obama lied about Hillary Clinton” in his 2008 campaign; after that statement, a clip of Hillary Clinton appears in which she scolds, “shame on you, Barack Obama.”
According to The Weekly Standard, the new ad will air immediately and “especially…in swing states like Ohio and Virginia.”
Later today, the Romney for President campaign will explain the new ad in a press release: “Just like he did against Hillary Clinton, President Obama now continues to spread dishonest attacks about Mitt Romney to distract from his failed record.”
The release continues, explaining, “Even though fact check after fact check have found his claims to be false, he continues to mislead the America people. It is no wonder why our country has lost confidence in his leadership.”
The ad represents a bold move by the Romney campaign and its intention is to encourage Americans to question every word that comes out of President Obama’s mouth.
