Hillary Clinton’s book sales drop ‘Hard Choices’ just above ‘Potty’ on Amazon list

The hard choice Hillary Clinton made to write her memoir shouldn’t have been made at all.

New York Times reporter Amy Chozik said on Twitter Wednesday that sales of Clinton’s “Hard Choices” have dropped 46% in the book’s third week to 26,190 copies.

This means that only about 160,000 copies have been sold since the book’s release, a far cry from making up for the multimillion-dollar advance Clinton received from her publisher, Simon & Schuster.

Given that the former secretary of State’s book sales sank over 43% in its second week, the 46% drop this week is devastating yet predictable. Clinton’s memoir now holds the No. 54 spot on Amazon’s best sellers list, just behind Marc S. Sabatine’s “Pocket Medicine” and in front of Leslie Patricelli’s “Potty.” At least she’s not below the toilet (yet).

Undoubtedly much to Clinton’s dismay, her recent criticism of the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby ruling didn’t inspire her female followers to run out and purchase copies of her book to counteract its deeply disturbing sales, and Justice Samuel Alito likely isn’t buying it. It doesn’t look like her newfound celebrity friends are trekking to Barnes & Noble, either.
