A Super PAC supporting Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is hoping that a comparison to Harry Potter will be magical for fundraising.
Politico reported that PAC sent a fundraising memo on Sunday comparing Rubio to the boy wizard — and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump to the Dark Lord Voldemort.

“The results in South Carolina were tremendously good for Marco Rubio,” Rubio PAC advisors, Warren Tompkins and Jon Lerner, said in the memo. “This morning, the media speculation that Donald Trump is unstoppable, is flatly wrong. It misses a central element of this year’s Republican nominating contest.”
With the former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) exiting the primary contest, the PAC advisors said that most of his supporters will flock to Rubio.
“In Harry Potter lore, Voldemort, the Dark Lord, had a secret to his strength. His secret was his horcruxes,” Tompkins and Lerner continued. “As each horcrux was destroyed, Voldemort became increasingly vulnerable, not increasingly strong. When all of the horcruxes were gone, Voldemort lost his one-on-one battle with Harry Potter.”
Despite the fact that an NBC/Survey Monkey poll found that Bush’s support would break nearly evenly among all the candidates, Rubio’s team is hoping for an eventual one-on-one fight with the billionaire.
“The data consistently and overwhelmingly shows Trump with the highest unfavorables among the remaining candidates, and that he is the last choice of more voters than any other Republican by far,” they continued. “Like Voldemort’s horcruxes, the large candidate field shields Trump from harm. At each step of the primary process, Trump is losing his shields, and that is making him more vulnerable.”
