The press has finally woken up to the fact that the millennial vote will not carry Hillary Clinton to the White House the same way it helped elect Barack Obama.

MSNBC embarrassed Clinton surrogate and former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm by making her explain why a crowd of young women at Longwood University felt no connection to the Democratic nominee.

“Last night I had the very fortunate opportunity to hang out with at sorority house here in Longwood, and when I asked the women if they felt connected to Hillary Clinton, they were very proud to see a woman get the nomination but didn’t feel a connection to her,” MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle said to Granholm.

Turning to the crowd, Ruhle asked if the young women behind her felt a connection to Clinton — which they responded loudly with a “no!”

When asked why young women felt this disconnect, all Granholm could say was, “I wish I knew.”
