Jon Stewart featured a segment on “The Daily Show” Wednesday night about Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill.) and his red “Downton Abbey” office that has led to an investigation of his expenses.

Stewart particularly spotlighted the fact that Schock’s response to critics of his lavish office decorations was to quote Taylor Swift.

“I’m different. I came to Congress at 27,” Schock told ABC News earlier this month. “When I take a personal vacation, I don’t go sit on the beach. I go do active things, and so I’m also not going to live in a cave. So, when I post an Instagram photo of me with my friends, you know, as Taylor Swift said, ‘haters gonna hate.'”

“True,” Stewart said in response. “But also, auditors are gonna audit and indicters are gonna indict and voters are gonna vote.”

The comedian also highlighted the Associated Press report that shows Schock spent taxpayer dollars on private plane flights, concerts and festivals. Amazingly, AP was able to conduct its investigation into the congressman by examining his Instagram photos to track where he was and how he was spending money.

“Congressman Schock, if you hadn’t Instagrammed everything you were doing, they might not have busted you,” said Stewart. “Although, to be fair, while Schock is raising eyebrows in the media, the Instagram community is loving this.”

Stewart insisted at the end of the segment that Schock shouldn’t worry too much about his current career.

“If this Congress thing doesn’t work out, shake it off, because you would obviously make an awesome Travel Channel host,” he joked.
