Jon Stewart mocked America’s “perverse obsession” with Ebola during a segment of “The Daily Show” Monday night.
The comedian kicked off the episode by entering the room wearing a yellow Hazmat suit, complimenting Texas — what he labeled “the only open-carry Ebola state in the union” — on eradicating the virus.

“The country continues its perverse obsession with a virus that none of us who has not had direct contact with an Ebola patient has gotten,” explained Stewart of the reaction to Ebola in the U.S.
He went on to speak to four “Daily Show” correspondents placed in New York and parts of Texas about the threat of Ebola in their locations.
While one correspondent spotlights the “locally-sourced, small-batch, fair-trade, organic, cage-free, farm-to-table Ebola” brewing in Austin, another fears he has caught Ebola only to realize later that he has come down with a case of the meat sweats.
The segment reflects particularly poorly on Texas and mocks the mainstream media in general for its coverage of the Ebola threat.
