When the map went haywire, this weatherman turned the forecast into a comedy routine

Somebody give this guy an Emmy.

Anything can happen on live TV, including a production error that shows local temperatures of 1,000 and 2,000+ degrees on the weather map. That’s when it becomes useful for a meteorologist to have more than just science skills — a sense of humor, for instance.

“Wow, 750 degrees in Fila Bend right now, and 1,270 in Ahwatukee. Now, I’m not authorized to evacuate Ahwatukee, but this temperature seems awfully high,” FOX-10 (Phoenix) weatherman Cory McCloskey deadpanned as he explained a map that showed what the weather must be like on Mercury.

This map was so rampantly and totally wrong that there was no getting around it.

Much to the delight of the newscast anchors, McCloskey just rolled with it.

“[S]ometimes THIS happens …” he wrote on his Facebook wall Wednesday.

Good thing he was prepared. Watch the priceless clip below.
