Everyone has heard the safety spiel from various bored flight attendants delivered to rather dismissive passengers. Not on this Southwest Airlines flight from San Francisco to Chicago, where one flight attendant took it upon himself to mix things up a little, delivering the necessary information with panache, flair and more than a little sass.
Starting with instructions on how to fasten your seatbelt, “in the event that you haven’t been in an automobile since 1960,” he then instructed passengers to keep the belts low on their hips, “just like the hot pink Speedo I’m going to be wearing when I finally get the three of us to a hotel hot tub,” and ended by informing smokers that they were free to light up on either the right or left wing.

This isn’t the first time Southwest crews have gotten creative. A Southwest Airlines flight attendant channeled her inner stand-up comedian in a flight to Utah earlier this spring.
