THE HILL — Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Friday that he backs efforts to increase the minimum wage and thinks other Republicans should as well.
“I part company with many of the conservatives in my party on the issue of the minimum wage. I think we ought to raise it,” Romney said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program. “Because frankly, our party is all about more jobs and better pay.”

Republicans in the Senate recently filibustered to block a bill that would have raised the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 per hour.
