In a press release on Tuesday afternoon, Breitbart senior editor Milo Yiannopoulos announced that he has resigned from the publication after video surfaced of him allegedly defending pedophilia.
Ahead of his scheduled press conference on Tuesday, the gay provocateur said, “Breitbart News has stood by me when others caved. They have allowed me to carry conservative and libertarian ideas to communities that would otherwise never have heard them.”

“I would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues’ important reporting, so today I am resigning from Breitbart, effective immediately,” he continued.
This has been a wild few days for the highly controversial personality. Yiannopoulos appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday night. On Saturday, Matt Schlapp announced Milo would be a keynote speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference this week. Then, the Reagan Battalion released this video on Twitter on Sunday of Milo allegedly defending pedophilia.

On Monday, the publisher Simon and Schuster announced they were cancelling Milo’s book worth $250,000.
Breitbart has not yet returned a request for comment on Milo’s resignation.
