NRA fires back against Bloomberg’s Thanksgiving gun control talking points

That Thanksgiving turkey isn’t the only thing on the dinner table that’s full of stuffing, at least according to the National Rifle Association. Mayor Michael Bloomberg seems to be stuffed full of it, too.

The pro-Second Amendment group unveiled their own Thanksgiving talking points in response to those proposed by Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns earlier this week. Proclaiming that Bloomberg is “full of stuffing,” the NRA’s Thanksgiving ad campaign “sets the record straight” on the “facts” proposed by the anti-gun group.

“This Thanksgiving, Michael Bloomberg has found yet another way to put a damper on a favorite American holiday,” the NRA states. “While most people will spend the day relaxing with friends and family; watching football; and eating too much, billionaire Bloomberg will be busy attacking our freedoms.”

The poster goes on to debunk the “facts” Mayors Against Illegal Guns encourages its proponents to share at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

“Bloomberg myth: ‘If more guns were in the hands of more people stopped gun crime, we’d be the safest country in the developed world,” the NRA reports. “Fact: As the numbers of guns and carry permit-holders have risen to all-time highs, the nation’s murder rate has fallen to nearly an all-time low.”

The NRA goes on to refute three more myths pushed by Bloomberg and encourages supporters to call Bloomberg and tell him to “stuff his anti-freedom agenda.”

“America has had enough of Bloomberg’s nanny state and his gun-grabbing mayors,” the ad continues. “Call (212) 788-2958 and tell Bloomberg to stuff his anti-freedom agenda.”
