The video and photos of a double-tornado in Nebraska are astounding

Two is often better than one, unless it’s tornadoes.

Ben McMillan and his storm chasing team captured incredible footage yesterday as two tornadoes simultaneously barreled through the land near Pilger, Neb.

“This is a very deadly situation,” McMillan is heard saying. He noted his team was in a “safe position” as the storm was moving away from their own vehicles.

They were still close enough to witness the storm’s sheer destruction.

“We’ve seen 10 to 20 buildings get completely destroyed at this point,” McMillan said.

In the footage below, debris can seen flying hundreds of feet in the air.

In a CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer after the tornadoes passed, McMillian explained that the clouds turned into tornadoes “as fast as (he’s) ever seen.”

Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman issued a state of emergency this morning in the wake of yesterday’s storms.
