The Republican National Committee thinks you have better ideas than President Obama about how to solve the American debt crisis.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is inviting Americans to submit their own plans to “fix America” in a new contest, the winner of which will be flown to Washington, DC, to dine with Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Priebus to explain his or her idea.
“Barack Obama and Democrats leading the Senate don’t like to pass budgets and they certainly don’t like to live within a budget,” reads Priebus’ press e-mail discussing the challenge. “Their reckless spending is hurting our economy and every American family.”
Priebus references a recent Gallup Poll finding that 74 percent of Americans describe our country as “on the wrong track.” His solution, thus, is to ask for help outside of Washington, from where the RNC chairman alleges the “best and brightest ideas” come.
The contest will likely get plenty of submissions, seeing as a recent Fox News poll determined that 58 percent of Americans specifically disapprove of the job President Obama is doing to improve the U.S. economy. Similar percentages also disapprove of his work on health care and foreign policy, so perhaps the RNC will develop contests to solicit help in those areas as well.
The RNC is now accepting submissions on the “Fix America Challenge” page on its website.
