The debate raged before the draft, during and after. For a few years. Who would you rather have: Matt Leinart, Vince Young or Jay Cutler? They all were picked within the top 11 of the 2006 NFL draft.
At the time most believed each quarterback would succeed, to some degree, in the NFL. With Kurt Warner retiring Friday, Leinart gets yet another chance in Arizona to prove he can play. Thus far he hasn’t.

Cutler was thought of as a franchise quarterback last offseason. Now, coming off a 26-interception season for Chicago after the trade with Denver, his reputation has plummeted.
At least Young had a better season with Tennessee, but he’s been so sporadic that it’s wrong to assume he’ll keep ascending.
Next season is a pivotal one for each quarterback. The new debate is this: would you want to build around any of them?
