WINDSOR, England (AP) — Ed McKeever of Britain won the final of the inaugural 200-meter K-1 at the Olympic canoe sprint regatta Saturday — the host nation’s 26th gold medal of the London Games.
McKeever justified his nickname of “Usain Bolt on Water” by powering to victory in 36.246 seconds in the sport’s fastest discipline over a distance that’s new to the Olympic program this year.
