Shortly after Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher told Titans beat writers that “the door is shut” on any potential trade for Albert Haynesworth, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said the defensive tackle is not being shopped.
“We don’t have him on the trading block,” Shanahan said. “Does that mean we won’t listen to anything that would happen? No. But it would be us listening. I would not anticipate him going anywhere unless he doesn’t come to our [training] camp. I’m looking forward to him coming in and competing at different positions and seeing how he practices and helps our organization.”

If the Redskins did trade Haynesworth, I’ve heard, like others have, that they’d like to get a second-round pick in return. Or, perhaps, a third-rounder this year and another one next year. This draft is deep in the second and third rounds, so it would make sense that Washington would want to get picks in those rounds. They don’t have any now, but Shanahan also told us a couple times that Donovan McNabb is this year’s second-round choice (and Jeremy Jarmon is the third rounder).
