To say that Baltimore loves Buck Showalter would be an understatement!
Preliminary overnight Nielsen ratings show that new Orioles skipper has re-energized both his players and viewers on MASN.

More than 61,000 households in the Baltimore market tuned in last night to watch the Orioles sweep the Angels, a marked increase over the 2010 average tune-in for Orioles fans in Baltimore. With a 5.6 HH rating, the Orioles telecast was the top-rated prime show in Baltimore on Thursday evening, beating out the prime-time lineups of even the broadcast stations.
Another 33,000 homes in the Washington market tuned in to watch the Orioles third-straight victory, as the team earned a 1.4 HH rating in the DC market.
Since Showalter was named Orioles manager on Monday, August 2nd, the Orioles have averaged a 4.5 HH rating or 49,000 households.
Orioles ratings had already increased over 2009 with the team averaging a 3.3 HH rating prior to the Showalter era, but the skipper brings a new level of excitement to the franchise.
Speaking of ratings Tuesday on MASN2 the Washington Nationals will face Florida with Stephen Strasburg on the mound, so big numbers in DC come next week.
