The Redskins still could be in trouble for bounties. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said no investigation has been closed when it comes to any teams, especially those that once employed defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. “If we get information we follow up on it,” Goodell told reporters at the owners meetings in Palm Beach, Fla. “We have not met with people that we will meet with as soon as the meetings are over. We have not said everybody has a free pass here. We’re saying that we will continue to pursue any information we get that is credible.”
Ex-Redskins safety Matt Bowen, writing in the Chicago Tribune, detailed payments to players for various plays. Other players, mostly anonymous, have been quoted in various outlets talking about getting paid for big hits. And one ex-player said “a lot of players are hiding” right now. Why? They don’t want to discuss this issue with the league — or anyone else.
