Andretti, Hancock to be honored at LoC

The Library of Congress announced Tuesday it will honor race car driver Mario Andretti, civil rights activist Julian Bond, jazz great Herbie Hancock, author David McCullough, baseball Hall of Famer Frank Robinson and journalists Cokie Roberts and Bob Schieffer on Saturday as Living Legends.

Joining Librarian of Congress James Billington as master of ceremonies is Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, a previously inducted “Living Legend” himself.

Then on Sunday, Ashley Judd will join former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former U.N. Human Rights Commissioner Mary Robinson at the National Cathedral to launch the Women, Faith, and Development Alliance.
