Local pols took their best shots at each other Wednesday night at the annual gala benefiting Southeastern University.

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, arguing for congressional representation for the District, said the city has so much in common with the states already: “Next spring, we will have a brand-new stadium with a losing baseball team, just like Maryland! … Virginia wants to tax illegal immigrants. The 850 people in attendance raised about $600,000 for scholarships and student programs.
