No denying that a Haynesworth trade remains possible

It’s the nondenial denial, courtesy of Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher. And it comes in regards to Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, whose new first name soon will be disgruntled. The Titans are rumored to be interested in trading for their former standout.

But Fisher told the Tennessean, “There has been some speculation that I’ve had conversations with Mike Shanahan, which is false. I have not had behind-the-scenes meetings with our people. There have been no discussions. He is under contract with the Redskins, and we are dwelling on the draft right now.”

As others, including Pro Football Talk, have pointed out, this statement doesn’t exactly rule out a future trade.

The Titans could have mixed feelings about bringing him back. After all, when he left there last year, one GM said half of the Titans’ decision makers wanted him back and half did not. That’s probably better odds than you would find in Washington right now.
