For something a bit different, we turn to local billionaire Michael Saylor, the founder of Microstrategy, who concocted a “Capitol Olympics”-themed party Friday.

The elaborate invitation required revelers to pick up their own “medal” for admission to the rooftop of the 101 Constitution building, and arrive in athletic gear. Tennis outfits (including Saylor’s) appeared to outnumber the rest, with runners, swimmers, ice-skaters, ice dancers, boxers and rowers also represented.

Among the attractions for the embarrassingly attired VIPs: Four Nintendo Wii stations with an instructor, a Cirque du Soleil-type act dangling from the top of the tent, two guys in thongs on stage, human “statues,” a rock band, two go-go dancers, and, according to the invitation, an “outrageous” amount of food.

About a dozen security guards weeded out crashers, so the likes of Alex Ovechkin, Rick Rickertsen, Mark Ein and Bill Dean could party in peace.

The only buzz-kill: A fire alarm went off at one point, leading to a brief evacuation down five flights before word went out that the party could resume.
