s long reign has finally come to an end. The advertising director for the Weekly Standard finished second on Thursday night’s “Jeopardy!”, but not beforehe became a three-time champion on episodes that aired from Monday to Wednesday.

“I was so exhausted from the stress of taping one show after another [back in July] that I was a goner,” he said. “If they’d asked what my name was, I would have been third to ring in.”

Nevertheless, Swezey has a total take of $78,002 coming his way, including the $2,000 second-place prize from Thursday. “They tell me it’s at least top 100 all time, and maybe top 50,” he told us. “There’s a guy in L.A. who keeps these stats.”

And, he added, he did get an “attaboy” from Brett Rutter, the “Jeopardy!” champ who is the all-time game-show money winner, topping even the great Ken Jennings.
