If John McCain adviser Carly Fiorina is itching for that vice presidential nod, she’ll fit right in as a politician.

Speaking to reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast Monday, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive — who’s considered to be on McCain’s short list for the veep nod — proved that she’s got the chops to dodge even the peskiest questions from the fourth estate.

How can McCain manage a country when he’s having difficulty managing the various advisers in his campaign? “What I think it says about John McCain is that he is prepared to make important and, in some cases, difficult personnel choices for the sake of efficiency and effectiveness, and I think that’s what you want.”

How would Barack Obama’s tax plans affect small businesses? “I think you should ask Barack Obama that.”

How would you describe the organization and structure of the McCain campaign? “I am not the best person to ask about the inner workings of the campaign.”

Would you join the McCain ticket as vice president? “John McCain is going to have a lot of highly qualified people to choose from.”

As a pol, she’ll be a natural.
