CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes rallied from a 17-point deficit in the second half, and Jack McClinton sank a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left to beat Maryland 62-60 on Wednesday night.
Greivis Vasquez sank a pair of 3-pointers early in the second half to help the Terrapins take their largest lead at 52-35 with 12:30 to go. Miami came back thanks to seven 3-pointers, the last three by McClinton, who scored 18 points.
The Hurricanes (13-3, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) won their sixth game in a row. The Terrapins (12-4, 1-1) lost in their first road game since Dec. 7.
Lance Hurdle stole the ball from Eric Hayes and drove for a layup to give the Hurricanes their first lead, 59-58, with 1:17 left. Vasquez missed a pair of 3-pointers in the final 5 seconds.

Duquesne beats George Washington, 88-83
PITTSBURGH — Freshman Melquan Bolding scored a career-high 26 points, Bill Clark and Aaron Jackson had 14 points, and Duquesne rallied to beat George Washington 88-83 on Wednesday night for its seventh straight victory.
Eric Evans scored 13 points and Damian Saunders added 11 for Duquesne (12-4), which is 3-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference for the first time in the school’s history.
The Dukes are off to their best start since the 1979-80 season and their winning streak is their longest in 28 years.
“We’re not that bad of a team,” Saunders said. “We’re putting up wins. We’re making a name for Duquesne.”
Duquesne, which trailed by 13 points late in the first half, went ahead for good 80-77 on a 3-pointer by Saunders with 2:49 remaining.
Bolding had four of Duquesne’s 13 3-pointers. The 6-foot-4 guard had twice scored 16 points this season before Wednesday night’s game.
“At first, they didn’t think I could shoot, so they left me open,” Bolding said. “My teammates got me the ball, and I hit the open shots.”
Rob Diggs had 25 points and reserve Noel Wilmore added 14 points for George Washington (6-8, 0-2), which lost its sixth straight.
The Colonials were 30-for-47 from the field (63.8 percent) and made 8-of-10 3-pointers.
“When the other team has those kind of numbers and you still win, you’ve obviously overcome a huge obstacle,” Duquesne coach Ron Everhart said. “I don’t know how we did it.”
A big factor was rebounding. Duquesne outrebounded George Washington 19-5 on the offensive end and took 14 more shots from the field.
“That was the difference in the game,” George Washington coach Karl Hobbs said. “If we could have taken care of the offensive rebounds, we might have had a different ending.”
