Oops! Detroit Free Press confuses photos of Harbaugh brothers

It’s only Monday and there is already a silly media blunder for the last week of 2014.

The Detroit Free Press apologized to its readers Monday after it accompanied a front-page story about outgoing San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh with a photo of Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, brothers, but two obviously different people.

Jim Harbaugh has parted ways with the 49ers and it’s suspected that he will soon take over the football program at the University of Michigan.

John Harbaugh, however, appears to be doing just fine and will continue to coach for Baltimore.

But Monday’s front page of the Detroit Free Press, which featured the headline “All Signs Point to Harbaugh at U-M,” was confusing, thank to the accompanying photo of John Harbaugh.

And just so there’s no further confusion, here’s a photo of outgoing 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh:

The Detroit Free Press noticed the mistake Monday morning and laughed it off, writing an apology later on Twitter.

“We’ve got a serious ‘Case of the Mondays,’” the Michigan-based newspaper said. “Our deepest apologies, folks. We’ll have the right one tomorrow, promise.”
