past few months, scurrying under the tables and catching a few winks in the corner.

That would be Eddie, Ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald’s (shown) faithful dog, whom appears to enjoy the run of the place.
According to Vicky Torraca, press adviser at the British Embassy, Eddie is “a complete mutt” with German shepherd, terrier and corgi blood, among other breeds.
Eddie is almost 15 years old and was a Christmas present to the ambassador’s middle son in 1993.
Once the runt of the litter in Brussels, Belgium, Eddie is now living the good life. Torraca said the dog is with the ambassador all the time and even sleeps in the ambassador and Lady Sheinwald’s bedroom.
“Eddie is an integral part of the family and we all love him — so do the American guests who come to the residence,” Sheinwald said via e-mail.
