Two trips to Charlottesville, one with his dad, the other with him mom, were enough to convince Nick Jenkins. The Good Counsel High standout lineman has made a verbal commitment to play football at Virginia.
Jenkins, a two-time All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference choice, selected Virginia over Penn State, Maryland, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-3, 286-pound tackle had 76 tackles and two sacks last season for the Falcons (9-3). He has been a starter since his freshman season.
“It was really everything,” said Jenkins. “The whole Charlottesville thing. The education, the campus, the football team. I wanted to play in the ACC. It was an easy decision.”

Dohlan takes over Wootton
Chris Dohlan is the new boys basketball coach at Wootton High, according to Patriots athletic director Rhett Ross. Dohlan takes over for Tom Lang, who guided the Patriots to an 11-11 record last season before accepting a similar job at Poolesville.
Dohlan has experience as a high school head coach and college assistant. He recently moved to the Washington area as his wife was hired as a teacher at National Cathedral School.
