Bill Cowher wants to coach again. But not just anywhere (sorry, Redskins). In an ESPN report, a source close to Cowher said the Dolphins, Texans and Giants are atop his wish list. Got us thinking about what we’re wishing for this holiday season.
1. A Twitter award for Chad Ochocinco » It has been a rough year for No. 85 on the field, but his everyday tweets are hilarious. Plus, he’s gotten into the holiday spirit lately: “You know what would be an awesome X-Mas present, to choose 1 person off twitter and we have joint bank accounts for the entire year of 2011.” Uh, yes, Chad, that would be awesome, and @irwinjj certainly is interested in the proposition.
2. An ace for the Phillies » Philadelphia is the front-runner to win the World Series. The Achilles’ heel? The starting pitching. Cliff Lee and Roy Oswalt have lost every World Series they’ve ever pitched in. That’s not good. And Roy Halladay? Well, if success is throwing a postseason no-hitter, he fails more than he succeeds. Maybe they should take a look at this Jamie Moyer guy.
3. Common sense for Floyd Mayweather » Listen, Money: Stop poking security guards in the face, get this Manny Pacquiao showdown back on track and start making headlines again for what you should be doing, not what you shouldn’t.
4. A playoff system for college football » Seriously, can we just get this done? What’s it going to take? A money guarantee? Fine. I pinkie swear that if you go with an eight- or 16-team playoff field, you will make enough money to buy Gordon Gee a lifetime supply of ugly suspenders.
