This morning at the White House’s annual presidential pardon ceremony, the world will get a firsthand look at the compassionate side of President Bush, when he saves two turkeys from ending up on a dinner plate somewhere.
Leading up to today’s ceremony, visitors to the White House’s Web site could vote for their preferred names for the turkeys. The finalists were “Wing & Prayer,” “May & Flower,” “Gobbler & Rafter,” “Wish & Bone,” “Truman & Sixty” and “Jake & Tom” (last year the winners were “Flyer & Fryer”).
