There’s a lot of reasons to hate ESPN. It’s easy to dislike the big kid on the block who also happens to have the economy of a small country. It’s big. It’s bold. It buys up everything that moves.
But it isn’t “The Worldwide Leader” for nothing. Just like any company you love to hate, it has characteristics that allow its future prosperity.
The announcement Monday that Jon Miller and Joe Morgan will not return next year to “Sunday Night Baseball” shows a lot of forethought by the network.
As hard as it is to make a change from an established duo, the time is right. After 21 years, it’ll be good to have some fresh voices every Sunday night.
We can’t wait to see who’s next.
