Aside from the weather, the annual Army-Navy football clash often feels like a bowl game. This year it will have the date of a bowl game as it will be played on Dec. 14, the latest ever in the long-running series which kicked off in 1890. The latest previous Army-Navy game came in 1930, on Dec. 13.
In all, Navy will face seven teams that reached bowl games, including Notre Dame which lost in the BCS national championship. The other bowls teams are Duke (Belk), Toledo (Famous Idaho Potato), Air Force (Armed Forces), Pittsburgh (Compass), San Jose State (Military), and Western Kentucky (Little Caesars Pizza), which will be guided by first-year coach Bobby Petrino, formerly of Arkansas.
