Joe?
For many of Joe Biden’s voters on Election Day, the answer was ‘not really,’ but more a vote to kick President Trump out of the White House.
According to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, “only” 56% of the former vice president’s voters voted for him.
Instead, 29% said that they were voting against Trump.
And, said Rasmussen, 15% were “unsure” why they chose former President Barack Obama’s No. 2.
“Looking back at the presidential election, Trump voters overwhelmingly say they voted for the president, while a sizable number of Biden supporters admit they were voting against Trump rather than for the former vice president,” said the analysis.
“Among Trump voters, 90% say they voted for the president, while just 8% say they were voting against Biden. But among Biden voters, only 56% say they were voting for Biden. Twenty-nine percent of these voters say they were voting against Trump, while a surprisingly high 15% are not sure,” it added.
Trump-hate among Democrats was high going into the election, a lingering hangover from Trump’s surprise 2016 victory.
Still, reelections are often a referendum on incumbents, and the survey certainly showed that.
