The Islamic State is taking credit for two suicide bombers in Afghanistan’s capital on Monday who killed at least 25 people, including eight reporters and four policemen.
At least 45 people were wounded in the attack, according to the Associated Press, and other reports were claiming higher death tolls.
The first suicide bomber rode into an area of Kabul where NATO headquarters is located. The second one came in on foot, and pretended to be part of the press covering the first explosion, according to local police.
One of the reporters killed was a photographer for Agence France-Presse.
The U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, John Bass, condemned the attack on Twitter Monday.
