D.C. spent some time reliving the ’90s on Thursday night when Sugar Ray’s frontman Mark McGrath showed up as a surprise guest at a Camp Freddy concert at the 9:30 Club. The all-star lineup of Dave Navarro, Matt Sorum, Billy Morrison, Donovan Leitch and Chris Chaney is touring the country to raise money for Rivers of Recovery, an organization that helps disabled veterans. In addition to McGrath, rockers Sebastian Bach, Steve Stevens, Franky Perez and Sully Erna joined Camp Freddy in its first show in the District.

We spotted “Married to Rock’s” Josie Stevens with her husband, Steve Stevens, watching from the upper level. The band members played covers of songs by the Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. And yes, McGrath crooned his band’s biggest hit, “Fly.”
