Born to Ride
Despite their recent horse-related troubles, Bruce Springsteen and wife, Patti Scialfa, aren’t shying from the equestrian world. In fact, Yeas & Nays hears that Scialfa, and perhaps the Boss himself, will be in town this weekend to watch their daughter Jessica compete in the Washington International Horse Show at the Verizon Center.

A spokeswoman for the show confirms that Jessica, an accomplished rider, is competing in the Equitation Championships on Friday and Saturday.
And, wouldn’t you know, it just so happens that Springsteen’s current tour with the E Street Band (of which Scialfa is a member) takes a three-day break from Thursday to Saturday this week before heading to Canada.
The first couple of rock ’n’ roll were recently sued by Olympic equestrian Todd Minikus for allegedly reneging on the purchase of an $850,000 horse named Pavarotti. Perhaps if Bruce does show, he can sing a duet with Jewel, who’s performing at the event Friday night at 8:30.
Springsteen’s publicist did not return a call for comment.
