Report: Super PAC supporting Scott Walker makes $7 million ad buy in Iowa

Unintimidated PAC, a super PAC supporting Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s presidential campaign, will purchase a $7 million ad buy in Iowa, CNN reported Wednesday. The ads will cover television and radio, from September to February when the GOP caucuses are held.

The super PAC reported collecting more than $20 million during the first six months of 2015, according to the mid-year report it filed with the FEC, and had more than $19 million cash-on-hand. In addition to the big bucks Unintimidated PAC will spend in Iowa, the super PAC is expected to spend large sums in other early nominating states, including New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

“This is the first phase of telling his story — a conservative governor from a blue state who has challenged the status quo, fought the entrenched special interests, and enacted conservative reforms to reform government from the bottom up — to voters in early states who are looking for a fighter who does more than make promises,” said Brad Dayspring, a senior adviser for the super PAC, in a statement to CNN.

Walker has already performed well in Iowa. While Donald Trump is the Republican Party’s front-runner nationwide, Walker holds a nearly eight percentage point lead on the competition in Iowa, according to RealClearPolitics’ average of polls. The Wisconsin governor lived in Iowa during the 1970s and has made plans to visit each of the state’s 99 counties in the campaign’s Winnebago.
