A Havre de Grace man was arrested on a murder charge in connection with a fatal stabbing last week in a White Marsh-area business park, Baltimore County police said.

Vernon Harris, 34, of the 200 block of Ringneck Court, is charged with murder and assault in the Oct. 25 attack on Floyd Harp, 46, of Baltimore, police said. Harris also hit another man who tried to intervene when he and Harp started fighting shortly before the stabbing, Cpl. Michael Hill said.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses in the area as they pieced together their case, police said. They are not looking for any other suspects in the attack, Hill said, adding that he wasn?t sure why the pair fought.

Authorities were called to the parking lot in the 7900 block of Honeygo Boulevard at about 10:20 p.m. and discovered Harp, of the 1900 block of Ramblewood Road, had already died of a stab wound to his upper body, police said.

Harris was held in the Baltimore County Detention Center and ordered to stay away from the victim of the alleged assault, identified in court records as Carl Forston.
