PCP dealer goes on run, again

U.S. marshals are looking for a convicted drug dealer who has a history of going on the lam.

An arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old D’Marco Blakney in May after he failed to appear in a D.C. court on drug charges. He has an arrest record involving drug possession and distribution and recently served an 18-month sentence on drug charges. In that case, a D.C. judge had to issue a bench warrant after Blakney disappeared before his trial, according to court records.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force are asking the public to help locate Blakney, who has been convicted of selling cigarettes dipped in liquid PCP on the streets of Southeast Washington.

“Blakney has poisoned our streets long enough; let’s get him off the streets,” said Deputy Will King.

Blakney has many family members in the greater Washington area, and is known to hang out in the Southeast Washington area, primarily around Minnesota Avenue, police said. He once lived in Suitland.

Blakney is described as 5-10 and 140 pounds with dreadlocks. Anyone with information regarding Blakney’s whereabouts is urged to call King at the U.S. Marshals Service at 301-489-1717 or 800-336-0102.

Tips from readers of The Washington Examiner have led to the arrest of 34 wanted fugitives in the D.C. area, including convicted murderers, kidnappers, child sex offenders, rapists and scam artists.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, run by the U.S. Marshals Service, is composed of 30 federal, state and local agencies from Baltimore to Norfolk. The unit has captured more than 33,000 wanted fugitives since its creation in 2004.
