Officials in Montgomery County are investigating a possible murder-suicide involving a father and his 23-month-old son last weekend in Gaithersburg.

Lt. Eric Burnett, a public information officer for the county’s police department, said the child’s mother first called the authorities Sunday night, when the father failed to return the baby on time that day.
