O.J. Simpson has some advice for Roger Stone: Stop complaining.
The infamous former NFL star who was acquitted of double murder charges but later spent nine years in prison for armed robbery suggested Tuesday the longtime Trump confidant won’t gain any sympathy by comparing an FBI raid on his Florida home to that of Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
“Let me say this. You know, I got raided by the FBI in Miami,” Simpson explained to TMZ, referring to a 2001 drug investigation that did not yield any charges. “Thirty-something FBI agents, 5 o’clock in the morning, and I had more than dogs. I had kids there.”
“The FBI can be wrong, but to try and compare it to ‘El Chapo’ and bin Laden? Hey man, bin Laden was carried out in a bag, not walked out in handcuffs. So man up, stop crying,” Simpson said.
Stone was arrested last month at his home in Fort Lauderdale on charges brought by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russia interference in the 2016 election.
In media appearances after the pre-dawn arrest, Stone derided the FBI’s “expensive show of force.”
“It’s an attempt to poison the jury pool,” he said. “These are Gestapo tactics.”
Stone has pleaded not guilty to charges of making false statements, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.
