Staff members at the Environmental Protection Agency say Scott Pruitt assigned subordinates to fetch him snacks along with other remedial errands.
Pruitt, who has been facing a wave of scandals during his relatively short tenure as EPA administrator, allegedly asks staffers to grab him an array of various items including Greek yogurt, protein bars, and pour-over coffee at least twice a week.
According to four sources familiar with the situation that spoke to The Daily Beast, he would demand his staff members run these errands on a “frequent” to “constant” basis.
“I can’t tell you how many times I was sent out to get protein bars on the orders of [Pruitt],” one person said.
Another former aide said the administrator had particularly upscale tastes, including a love of food items from the ritzy grocer, Dean & Deluca, and pour-over coffee as opposed to more commonly used brewing methods.

A spokesperson from the EPA declined to give a direct comment on this latest scandal to come out of Pruitt’s time in office, calling it a distraction.
“EPA will not be commenting on anonymous sources who are working to distract Americans from Administrator Pruitt’s accomplishments on regulatory certainty and environmental stewardship,” the spokesperson said.
Pruitt has come under fire while in office for similar lavish lifestyle choices, including flying first class while working and buying luxury fountain pens.
