A truck driver from Texas was sentenced to 20 years in prison for transporting a young Maryland girl across state lanes to have. Prosecutors say Elmer Zelaya-Robles abducted an 11-year-old girl from Prince George’s County, had sex with her three times in his truck, and discussed marrying her in El Salvador before he was stopped and arrested in Tennessee.
Zelaya-Robles, 42, was working for a Maryland trucking company, when he picked up the girl from her parents’ home in the middle of the night. Zelaya-Robles had sex with the girl in the sleeper area of the truck and headed for Texas.
The man called the girl’s father and told him that he was in love with his daughter.
When an Amber alert was issued a Tennessee highway trooper spotted the truck and arrested Zelay-Robles ast a truck stop.
