Kellyanne Conway: Democratic donations from Mueller’s team is ‘relevant information for people to have’

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Friday that it’s important for people to know that members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team of lawyers donated to Democrats, but stopped short of saying those donations are proof of bias.

“These weren’t minor donations … These were significant donations by members of that team. They clearly wanted the other person to win,” Conway said on Fox News. “Now, whether that prejudices them one way or the other in the investigation remains to be seen. But it is relevant information for people to have.”

The former Trump campaign manager insisted Trump has nothing to hide in his businesses or personal life, and reiterated the president’s claims that Mueller is on a “witch hunt.”

“What’s the point? I want to go back and say the question isn’t what is there to hide. The question is what was the purpose of this investigation?” Conway said.

“The president said to the New York Times less than two days ago, ‘We don’t make money in Russia. We don’t have hotels in Russia,'” Conway added. “He had the Miss Universe pageant there eight or nine years ago. His sons have said that very clearly about the business interests. Let’s go back to what the purpose of the investigation was: Russian interference in our election.”

Trump’s Miss Universe pageant in Moscow took place in the fall of 2013.
